Leslie McCandles

Leslie McCandles is a graduate of the Zaki Gordon Institute for Independent Filmmaking. She is the founder of Red Rock Reflections Productions, an independent film company specializing in documentaries. She holds a Masters degree in Psychology and is licensed to practice Marriage and Family Therapy in two states. After traveling widely with her pro-basketball-playing husband on the NBA circuit, she moved to Sedona, Arizona in 1990. The colors of the southwest inspired her to create a line of clothing that she designed, manufactured and retailed. For fun she dances Argentine Tango and is a member of an Improv Troupe known as the “Abandoned Minds.”

Kathleen Dusek

Kathleen Dusek has been making documentary films for thirty-two years. In the 1970’s, after attending the Film School, an affiliate program of San Francisco State University, she practiced her craft as a cameraperson on various productions in the Bay area. In 1977, Kathleen formed her own company, World Quest Productions. She produced and directed numerous feature-length documentaries.

Germany: Once Upon A Time – An investigation into the origins of the Grimm’s fairytales.

The Seine – A journeyt winding down the famed French river.

Land of Two Peoples – An investigation of the tri-lingual culture of Belgium.

The Orient Express – A journey from Paris to Istanbul on the most elegant and historic of trains.

Holland – A travelogue about that country.

Our National Parks – Kathleen produced the segments on Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest and Mt. Rainier.

Ms. Dusek’s films have been shown extensively on television and in theaters througout Europe and North America. She was a regular guest of National Geographic, performing numerous times with her films both at Constitution Hall and Explorer’s Hall in Washington D.C. For fifteen years, her work was shown at such places as Carnegie Institute in Pittsburg, the Art Institute and Field Museum in Chicago, the Seattle Opera House and the Music Center in Los Angeles.

She won the Rising Star Award from the International Travel Film Associtation and received the Best Film Award for Paris and the Seine from the North Shore Film Society. Her Orient Express was picked up by Reader’s Digest and sold more than 100,000 copies around the world. It received the Best Video Production and Content Award from Video Choices Magazine.
